We have been so busy this summer with trips and outings that we are a bit behind on our news! Here is the latest from our Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton locations. Be sure to scroll all the way down to see all of the photos!
A group from our Elgin Street Community Home enjoyed a beautiful cottage vacation this summer in Kirkfield. The very relaxing trip included barbequing, playing pool, eating ice cream and taking part in a sweet dance party! We also spent a beach day in Fenelon Falls. Way to go, Elgin!
Our Monday morning movement and meditation group has really grown. Everyone is working hard on chair exercises, balance exercises (for fall prevention) and deep breathing exercises for relaxation after the workout.
We enjoyed a recent trip to Peterborough, which included a visit to the local zoo, dinner at Swiss Chalet and then some time at the music festival. Everyone had a great time dancing all night to the John Dawson Band. Many community people came to join our group of dancers, saying that they’d never had so much fun. After a great, and full, day we headed home, a few falling asleep on the way back to Haliburton!
Progress continues on our Victoria Street gardens. The fence is complete, additional beds have been added (laid out) and our wheelchair accessible raised beds are in place. All of the beds will be ready for use next season. So much progress has happened in the last few years, it’s amazing to see it come to life!!
